Big Steak Salad with Onion Strings
This one is a keeper. I don't make it that often because making the onion rings can get messy. But they are so worth it. So delicious!

Notes:
Battering the onion strings is messy. As long as you know that going in, who cares. Have everything lined up and ready to go before you start frying. If you have leftovers, they warm up great in the oven. Use any kind of steak you like. I usually use flank. You can also add sliced red onion to the salad if that's your thing...
Modifications:
Low Carb: Eat just a few of the onion strings (if you can resist)
Gluten Free: GF flour for onion strings works just as well!
Vegan: Skip the steak in the salad and use vegan blue cheese crumbles, not sure about buttermilk??
Pescatarian: Skip the steak and use shrimp in the salad
Picky Kids: Serve them steak with a side of onion strings. Don't bother trying to sell them on salad.
